Hello, my name is Robert Cross and I own Cross Home Inspections, LLC. I want to thank you for visiting my web site. When I started in the home inspection business 20 years ago my goal was to give my clients the most detailed and thorough inspection possible and do so with honesty and integrity. I have since inspected over 6,000 homes for my clients along with many commercial properties. I have also been the education provider for the State which consists of teaching the 90 hour home inspection course along with providing the in-field training that is required for new inspectors to become licensed. I have personally taught and trained the majority of the licensed home inspectors here in Benton, Benton and the surrounding Northwest Louisiana area.

As of January 1, 2023, prospective home inspectors are also required to complete an apprenticeship prior to becoming licensed. The apprenticeship training must include a minimum of three home inspections totaling no less than 10 hours. Find a list of current board-approved home inspector trainers here.

The state government voted into law in January 2019 that all home inspectors must be licensed if they are being compensated by clients. This bill became effective in November 2019, and the state began accepting applications in 2021.

Inspectors also have reported frustrations with the job. The 2013 survey of hundreds of nursing home inspectors in 10 states found widespread pressure from industry and elected officials to change inspection results.
