[S1E9] The Heights
As Joo-ryoung prepares for her spot on Earth Arcade season two by undergoing rappel training, she appears to realize she has a phobia of heights. Elsewhere, Hyun-joo gets Director Ma to begrudgingly agree to attend lunch with her mother, and the rookie agent vocally wonders what is next for Myung-aeh following her dismissal at Method. Additionally, the overworked, tired office employees (Jin-hyeok and Eun-soo primarily) are being tasked with handing over files to Sunny Lim, who is unapologetic about their difficult situation.
[S1E9] The Heights
Compared to Thackery, "The Golden Lotus'" other stories -- which weren't given much time in comparison -- were augmented to incredible heights. But of course, they should have been anyway given their nature. In one, the Gallingers' woes are far from over. Eleanor appeared at the hospital with Grace, the orphan Everett had brought to her, saying she feared the baby had brain fever. Everett, already wild-eyed from the misery at home, plus problems at the hospital (like his anger at Algernon for changing up his treatments without consulting him), saw what we desperately feared to: that Eleanor had killed Grace but submerging her in an ice bath. "Two dead babies in as many months," Sister Harriet sadly says later. Demons of the mind (Eleanor's psychotic depression, Thackery's addiction) are not at all understood in 1900, and the illustrations of that are harrowing. At the close of the episode, Eleanor was straightjacketed and carted off, with a defeated Everett collapsing at his dining room table.
Animation Bump: Has much smoother animation, due to it using new assets and being animated by Michael, who does animation with much more effort than Cary.
Artifact Title: The episode doesn't have any bug invasions; however, this actually happened for both sequels. However, the title most likely alludes to the fact that the featured challenge is a six-legged race.
The Bus Came Back: Blocky rejoins the game in this episode.
Curb-Stomp Battle: The Squashy Grapes are now twice as big as the Squishy Cherries, so they end up splitting into two teams.
Department of Redundancy Department:Announcer: Well, that means the Grape team will permanently be permanently split permanently in two, permanently forming 3 teams of 5. Permanently.
Diabolus ex Machina: Another Name is leading the three-legged race until they encounter a tightrope. Firey has a fear of heights. They place second.
Giver of Lame Names: Golf Ball, accidentally. When Firey wants the name of the new team to be the Squashy Grapes, Golf Ball tells him that Leafy's team is already the Squashy Grapes, and that their team name has to be another name. Because of this, their team name ends up being "Another Name".
"It" Is Dehumanizing: At one point during the contest, Coiny gets barfed on by Rocky and refers to him as "it". Then again, the characters are all anthropomorphic objects.
Malicious Misnaming: Snowball calls the Squishy Cherries the "Mushy Berries" when he sees that they are in the lead.
