Fitoor follows the life of Noor (Aditya Roy Kapur), a talented but poor Kashmiri boy who lives with his sister and brother-in-law. He works as an assistant to a famous artist named Begum Hazrat (Tabu), who lives in a mansion with her daughter Firdaus (Katrina Kaif). Noor falls in love with Firdaus at first sight, but she is cold and distant towards him.
